The Company Samsung Reduces Smartphone Output Through The Month Of April Because Demand Plummets
According to a report in the tech source The Elec says that Samsung will scale back output from about 25 million phones a month to just 10 million devices through the month of April. This outlet quotes an un-named source to suggest that current Covid-19 Iockdowns as well as the shutting of production facilities in India and the country of Brazil are causing of the contraction of output.
The company believes production would be normalized in the month of May when both the India and Brazil plants will recommence production. However, even though this lockdown has already been extended in India till May 3 as well as knowing that Covid-19 occurences are unfortunately increasing in both these countries, the anticipated return to normal may yet take a more lengthy process than Samsung anticipates.
Yet, there is also a silver lining for Samsung. Predicted sales of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra have been outperforming market predictions with sales expected to reach 6 million devices through this year as against the expected sales of about 3.5 to 5.25 million handsets.
